Uzbek and US companies signed 13 agreements worth $2.5 billion at the annual business forum in Tashkent on Oct. 23, Uzbek media reported citing Chairman of the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm.
Air Products and Uzbekneftegaz signed an agreement on the implementation of promising gas processing projects, including the production of industrial gases amounting to $2 billion.
Silver Leaf and BMP Trade agreed to create a textile cluster in the Jizzakh region on an area of 31,000 hectares (12,000 hectares in the Dustlik district, 8,000 hectares in the Pakhtakor district, 7,000 hectares in the Mirzachul district and 4,000 hectares in the Arnasaysky district) amounting to $350 million.
John Deere and Uzagrosanoatholding signed an agreement on the establishment of a joint venture for the production of agricultural equipment on the basis of the Tashkent Agricultural Equipment Plant of (TAEP) after the delivery of 500 tractors. John Deere also agreed with the TAEP on the supply of modern agricultural machinery and tractors.
Imperial Jewelry and the Jewelry Industry Association of Uzbekistan signed an agreement on the establishment of a joint venture for the production of jewelry in the Zargarlik plant in Tashkent.
Caterpillar and the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine signed a protocol of intent on the supply of 10 mining dump trucks.
CETS and the Ministry of Agriculture signed a protocol on cooperation in the introduction of modern technologies for the production of high-quality potato seeds in Uzbekistan.
The US-based United Investment Healthcare Group, after signing the agreement, received in trust a network of pharmacies of the Dori-Darmon company based on the principles of a public-private partnership.
US Inc. and Farm Agency agreed to organize the production of a wide range of diagnostic test systems in Tashkent for the detection of various diseases.
Crane Currency and the state association Davlat Belgisi (State Insignia) will cooperate in the production of banknotes. The American side will supply a special micro-optical thread and chemical materials.
In addition, the US Macro Advisory and the State Committee on Investments have agreed to cooperate in attracting direct American investments.
