(MENAFN) Lebanon is witnessing 88 percent of the Syrian immigrants residing in the country wishing to make their way back home.
The news was unveiled on Sunday by Mireille Girard, representative for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Lebanon, at a seminar carried out by Institute for Development, Research, Advocacy and Applied Care.
The National News Agency reported the UNHCR representative stressing that the Syrian refugees are suffering from concerns and doubts over their legal standing.
Girard stated "Syrian refugees in Lebanon are worried about whether they have to fight if they go back home or not, if they still own houses and if they have official documents."
He further added that the UNHCR is making extra efforts to reach a resolution on the matter with Syrian authorities.
