(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Sabre Corporation organised a tourism event at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa last week held under the patronage of H E Maitha bint Saif al Mahrouqi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Tourism.
Sabre unveiled the latest technology trends shaping the future of travel in Oman to top industry professionals from the ministry, travel companies and airlines. Online travel, new airline capabilities and emerging technologies were among the top trends highlighted as driving the transformation of travel and the traveller experience.
H E Maitha gave an overview of the development and growth of the travel and tourism sector. 'We should not underestimate the role of technology in empowering the growth of tourism and taking the travellers' experience to the next level. Oman is investing heavily in tourism and technology is being deployed to attract young travellers.'
Raymond Vrijenhoek, vice president of Sabre Travel Network Middle East, explained how the Oman travel industry is set to rapidly evolve.
