(MENAFN) The health ministry declared that up to 200 Ebola haemorrhagic fever cases have been registered in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) since August.
The latest statistics released by the ministry, 117 people, among the 200 cases recorded, have been pronounced dead as 61 more regained their health.
Fresh eight cases have been registered on Saturday, with 6 among them in Beni and two in Butembo.
The ministry confirmed that two agents of the Rapid Medical Unit of the Armed Forces of the DRC (FARDC) have been killed in an attack carried out by local militias in hazardous areas , where the agents were dispatched at certain points to help border health officers.
