(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's disabled sports club Chairman of Board of Directors Shafi Al-Hajeri announced that the Technical Committee for sports of the disabled in the GCC approved Kuwait's hosting of the 9th Gulf Championship of the national wheelchair basketball teams in December.
In a press release on Saturday, Al-Hajeri said that Kuwait represented by the disabled sports club will hold the championship, and all GCC nations will be partaking.
He added that the decision came during the technical committee's meeting which was held today in Kuwait with the presence of representatives from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and Bahrain.
Preparations to host this sports event will begin immediately to guarantee its success as there was a high level of cooperation during the meeting leading up to the final decision, which also included discussions of a number of topics on the agenda, added Al-Hajeri. (end) fsa.fs.aq
