Is it fit to eat?


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Oct 18: The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition promptly responded to a video clip showing shawarma and foodstuff being transported in an unhealthy manner, reports Al-Rai daily. Food inspectors from the authority seized the food and referred it to the competent authorities to determine its suitability for human consumption.

The Director of the Inspection Department at the authority Ali Al-Kandari said the inspectors responded to a video clip which was documented and posted by a Kuwaiti and legal action shall be taken in accordance with the laws in force if the concerned party has violated the law.

Al-Kandari added the restaurant referred to in the clip and other restaurants are strictly controlled by the inspection teams of the authority. He added, the violating restaurant may be punished and the punishment includes immediate closure and a fine ranging from KD 50,000 to KD 100,000, if it is proven the food was unsuitable for human consumption.
