Israel forces shoot, injure 115 Gaza protesters


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RAMALLAH, Oct 19 (KUNA) -- Israeli forces on Friday opened fire on participants in the Great March of Return protests at Gaza-Israel border, wounding at least 115 people.
In a press statement, the Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that nearly 77 of the injured, including a journalist, were hit by live bullets.
More than 204 Palestinians have been killed and thousands others injured since the outbreak of the Gaza border protests on March 30.
The protests call for ending the 12-year-long Israeli blockade of Gaza and for the right of return of the refugees. (end) nq.ibi
