Kurdistan seeks to maintain strong relations with Turkey


(MENAFN) The Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) in Northern Iraq expressed its desire to preserve its strong ties with Turkey.

KRG spokesman Safeen Dizayee emphasized on Thursday that"without a doubt, we have very good relations with Turkey."

The statement was made by the KRG spokesman during an inspection of a new school in KRG's administrative capital, Erbil, of which Turkish Maarif Foundation manages.

The spokesman also stated during an interview with Anadolu Agency: "and we want to maintain these good relations in all fields."

Dizayee stressed that the KRG "would also like to benefit more from Turkey's experience in the educational and cultural arenas."

He further added "Turkey is highly developed in these areas - areas to which we attach great importance."
