Oman- Low pressure to cause rains till Saturday


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- A trough of low pressure brought about rains in Muscat and many other places in the interiors on Wednesday evening. The low pressure is expected to cause further rains till Saturday.

The Public Authority for Civil Aviation's (PACA) National Multi Hazard and Early Warning Centre stated that its latest weather charts indicated that the sultanate was affected by a trough of low pressure on October 17 which will continue until October 20.

According to the statement, due to the low pressure, there are chances of convective clouds developing and occasional thundershowers associated with fresh downdraft winds and hails over the governorates of Musandam, Buraimi, Dhahirah, North Batinah, South Batinah, Dakhliyah, Muscat, North Sharqiyah and South Sharqiyah.

After days of cloudy weather, residents of Muscat witnessed a drizzle late evening on Wednesday. Rains were also reported in Barka, Ibri and Quriyat among other places. PACA advised all to take precautions during rainfall and keep monitoring weather bulletins.
