Qatar- Customs Authority participates in GCC meeting

DOHA: The General Authority of Customs participated in the 20th meeting of the Customs Union of the GCC, which began yesterday in Kuwait.

The State of Qatar is represented in the meeting by a delegation led by Chairman of General Authority of Customs, Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal.

The two-day meeting will discuss the report of the General Secretariat on the requirements of the Customs Union, the transfer of shipments among member countries, and the latest developments on the direct and automatic transfer of custom fees. They also discussed a report of the committee charged with reviewing the implementation of the unified customs system of the GCC countries.

The meetings will also address the note by the Secretariat on the response of the International Organization for International Transport and Railways (OTIF) on Railways Instructions and Procedures, the Secretariat's report on the Harmonized System tariff for future meetings and other technical topics on the agenda.
