South Korea recovers bodies of climbers


(MENAFN) The body of five South Korean climbers found dead at the Himalayas in one of Nepal's most dangerous mountaineering incidents of recent years, have been recovered back to Korea.

The South Koreans, guided by one of the country's famous one of the country's, have been cmabing on Mount Gurja last week when they were struck by an unexpected, powerful gust most likely triggered by downblast from an avalanche.

Their corpses alongside another four Nepali guides were recovered from the remote area in the Dhaulagiri mountain range on Sunday.

Lee In-jung, leader of the Union of Asian Alpine Association confirmed: "All mountaineers are grieving, thinking of all the beautiful memories we shared with the victims."
