Tehran Polytechnic, Syrian university to cooperate


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency ) Hama University of Syria has made a suggestion to publish joint articles and exchange students with Tehran's Amirkabir University of Technology, (Tehran Polytechnic), said the head of international cooperation department of the Iranian university, IRNA reports.

'Hama University is a private institution with 100 faculty members and about 17,500 students,' said Amir Golru on Tuesday.

'The two universities have the opportunity to work in medical engineering and computer engineering.'

Referring to the interest shown by the Syrian university to cooperate in distance education, he said, 'Publishing joint articles and admitting Syrian students at Amirkabir University will be parts of the collaborations.'

Amirkabir University of Technology, formerly called the Tehran Polytechnic, is one of the most creditable Iranian universities. Admission to the university is highly competitive, which requires scoring among the top 1% of students in the Nationwide University Entrance Exams with more than 1.5 million examinees.

Recently, Iranian universities have set up various cooperation programs with their foreign counterparts.
