Lebanon announces return of 776 Syrian refugees to their homes


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, Oct 15 (KUNA) -- The Lebanese General Directorate of Public Security announced on Monday a voluntary return of 776 Syrian refugees from different areas in Lebanon to their homes in Syria.
The Directorate said in a statement that it supervised the return of the refugees to their towns, in coordination with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees through the public security centers in the east and north of the country.
The refugees returned by buses that were provided by the Syrian authorities for this purpose from the points of assembly, accompanied by patrols from the General Directorate of Public Security to the Lebanese-Syrian border, it added.
The Lebanese public security had overseen the return of hundreds of Syrian refugees wishing to return home recently. (end) ayb.aa
