Iraq, Sonangol ink drilling agreement

(MENAFN) The Iraqi oil ministry and Angola's Sonangol inked an agreement on the digging of ten wells in the Qayara oilfield.

The Iraqi Drilling Company penned the drilling contract with the Angolan state-owned oil company on Thursday.

Sonangol general manager Ramesh Valory was also cited by the ministry as saying that the oilfield's production is forecast to hit 60,000 bpd by March 2019.

Valory added that Sonangol is aiming to expand its drilling of wells in the following two years to 100 wells.
