(MENAFN - Trend News Agency ) A group of 19 Georgian firefighter and rescuers have been sent to participate in large-scale international drills SRBIJA 2018, which take place in the town of Mladenovac near Belgrade, according to the Georgia Emergency Management Service, GeorgiaToday reports.
The exercise started on October 8 and will finish today. SRBIJA are held under the auspices of NATO, and they are attended by 170 representatives from 29 NATO member countries and partners. The purpose of the SRBIJA 2018 is to develop mutual cooperation between countries, including the promotion of border cooperation.
The exercises were visited by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who wished the rescue firefighters good luck.
