ASBU, ALESCO sign prog. to boost cooperation


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) and the Arab League Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ALESCO) signed a program Tuesday to boost cooperation between the two sides.
This came during a working session held at ASBU headquarters in Tunis on the development of the partnership between ALECSO and the Union, supervised by the Director General of the Organization Dr. Saud Al-Harbi and the Union Director Eng. Abdulraheem Suleiman.
The two Directors General stressed the importance of enhancing and developing cooperation between the two organizations and benefiting from the expertise and capabilities.
They agreed that ASBU would circulate the news contents provided by ALESCO on its activities and programs through the Union's exchange system, which includes Arab radio and television organizations.
They also stressed the importance that ALECSO benefit from the direct and distance training opportunities provided by the Training Academy of ASBU.
Dr. Al-Harbi expressed his hope that ALECSO would benefit from the Union's capabilities in preparation and broadcasting educational, cultural and scientific programs for the benefit of Horn of Africa countries to promote and disseminate the Arabic language.
At the end of the session, the two sides signed a supplementary program of a memorandum of understanding (MoU). (end) ksj.aa
