Foreign companies look for local partnerships

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The participating companies from different countries at the International Product Exhibition and Conference (IPEC), which started yesterday at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, have expressed their confidence on the great potentials of the promising Qatari market.
Representatives of the participating companies stressed that the strength and multiple opportunities in the Qatari market have encouraged them to take part in the event and look for business opportunities in the local market.
'We are keen to maintain partnership with Qatari companies, get local distributors or dealers for our products, or even establish manufacturing plants for our products in Qatar when possible, a representative said.
The products and services offered by the participating countries include those from the agriculture and food industry, construction and building materials, decoration services and products, medicine, chemicals, lubricants, mechanical parts, auto spare parts, accessories, personal hygiene and beauty products, clothes, technical services and many others covering a wide range of market needs from heavy and small industries alike.
Aziz Adiguzel, representative of Naesan Makina Automotive, a Turkish company specialised in manufacturing auto transmission parts, said that the company is keen to find a local partner in Qatar to distribute its products as the Qatari market is considered a promising new area for his company's business.
'We are also open for all business options available in Qatar. It is possible to start a factory here if we find a willing partner and it could be an excellent opportunity to introduce our products in the region, he said.
Mohamed Tahir, director, NovaMed Pharmaceuticals, a Pakistani company, said that IPEC is a great opportunity to introduce their products in the Qatari market. He said that Pakistan could provide the local market with affordable yet high quality medication and pharmaceutical products, and IPEC is a great opportunity to look for local partners and distributors to promote his company's products in the country.
'Any business partnership in any acceptable form would be considered, including opening a plant to manufacture our products in the country and distribute the products throughout the region from here, he said.
Ibrahim al-Muharib, chief executive officer of an Omani Company specialising in shaping and designing marble decorations, stressed that the strong friendship and business relations between the Omani and Qatari people goes deep in history and they have shared history and culture. However, he said that his company is new to the country and could offer the local market unique designs at affordable prices compared to other global competitors. The company also hopes to find a suitable distributor or dealer in Qatar to promote their products and services locally.
Nargiz, a representative of a company from Tajikistan specialising in cloning and multiplying plants, explained that the company is offering its services through IPEC to enhance farming and plantations in Qatar.
'We could take special varieties of plants and multiply and improve their qualities to suit the local environment and replant them in climate controlled environment. This would be good in particular to such place as plants need special qualities to grow and be productive here. In addition to improving the quality, we could treat these plants to be virus resistant and suitable for a hot and dry climate. Being here at IPEC is a very good opportunity to introduce our services and start new business partnerships that would certainly benefit both parties, she pointed out.
Abu Sami, a Tunisian fruits supplier, stressed that the Qatari market is a good place to explore for great business opportunities and IPEC is the best place to start this.
Similarly, a number of Iranian companies, in particular from the diary and food products sectors, pointed out that they are aware that the Qatari market is highly competitive and demanding so they have invested heavily to introduce high quality. IPEC is one platform that could ease their reach out to potential local distributors and partners.
