Trend:

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan may introduce a common visa entitled "Silk Road", Kazakh media reported.

This has become known during the international exhibition entitled as "Tourism on the Silk Road", which opened yesterday in Tashkent. The common visa involves free movement from country to country for tourists.

"Both sides are working very actively on this issue. A number of other countries along the Silk Road are also interested in this project. We hope that they will also be able to join such an agreement in the future, bringing their legislation and their information systems in accordance with the requirements that allow for mutual information exchange between our border guards, between our security services," Aziz Abdukhakimov, the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, said.

Such a step will help to develop tourism in Central Asia.

It is reported that other neighboring countries will also presumably support the "Silk Road" visa project in the near future.
