Saudi Arabia to establish oil refinery in Pakistani port city

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia was unveiled to have set out a target to establish an oil refinery in Gwadar, a southwestern strategic port city in Pakistan.

The decision was explained to have been taken only days following a call Riyadh received from Islamabad to take part in the USD64 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The news has been announced by head of Gwadar Port Authority (GPA), Mir Dosteen Khan Jamaldini during an interview with Anadolu Agency.

Jamaldini stated: "the Saudi government plans to build a large oil refinery in Gwadar, which will help Pakistan meet its petroleum-related requirements."

The planned oil refinery is expected to turn into the third most major refinery across the globe, as reported Dawn News citing officials.
