Oman- Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup: Ahmad confident of a strong finish

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 racer Ahmad al Harthy expressed confidence of finishing the 2018 Blancpain Series Endurance Cup on a high when he along with his teammates, Euan McKay and Charlie Eastwood, race in the fifth and final round of the season at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain.

Following a modest build-up during practice and pre-qualifying on Saturday, the Oman Racing Team put its full focus into finding an optimum race set-up for the final three-hour encounter on the following day, an approach Ahmad believes would benefit the team.'We worked on trying to find the perfect set-up for the car throughout Saturday.

Our times weren't all that competitive in pre-qualifying because we were focusing on our race pace. We sacrificed our qualifying simulation in order to do more work with race settings,' he said.

'I know we can push for a strong result to end the season. I think it's going to be an interesting final round,' added Ahmad.

After concluding free practice on Saturday with the tenth quickest time in the Silver Cup, the trio ended pre-qualifying with an improved, but still uncharacteristic, seventh best time with a lap of 1m46.892 seconds.
