(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Muscat- Badr al Samaa Hospital inaugurated its new facility in Barka at a grand ceremony on Monday. The 80-bed hospital was inaugurated by H E Sheikh Saad bin Mohammed bin Said al Mardhouf al Saadi, Minister of Sports Affairs. Dr Mazin Jawad al Khabouri, director general of Private Health Establishments was the guest of honour at the event.
The event was attended by eminent dignitaries from the government and public administration, embassies, corporates, insurance companies and social organisations. Some of the dignitaries who attended the event included H E Sheikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, Governor of South Batinah, H E Sheikh Abdullah Mohammed al Bukhar, Wali of Barka, H E Sheikh Mohammed Ali al Ghofaili, Wali of Wadi al Ma'awel, Salim Sa'ad al Malaki and Dr Salim Salam al Rashidi, Shura Council members, Barka, Dr Mohammed Khalifa al Abri and director general of Health Services, South Batinah.
Board of Directors of Badr al Samaa Group, P A Mohammed, Dr V T Vinod and Abdul Latheef expressed their gratitude to the guests for being part of the launch event. As part of the launch, the guests were familiarised with the advanced facility by the board of directors. The ten-year old polyclinic redeveloped and upgraded its facilities and services to cater to the healthcare needs of the people settled in South Batinah governorate.
The expanded facilities include state-of-the-art imaging equipment and services with provision for cardiac care and all major and minor surgeries. The expanded hospital underwent a massive aesthetic facelift through extensive refurbishing and renovation. There are three state-of-the-art renovated operation theatres equipped to handle all kinds of general, orthopaedic, urological, neurological, gynaecological, ENT and ophthalmic cases.
In addition, there is a modern Endoscopy Suite, Labor Suite, CCU, MICU, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a CT scan unit. Suites comprise deluxe and super deluxe rooms. A dedicated room for recovery and recuperation is available with an array of skilled workforce. The hospital also offers leading-edge treatments and services, ranging from cardiac care and general surgery, laparoscopic surgery (keyhole surgery), laser surgeries for haemorrhoids and varicocele diagnostic imaging and other services.
To mark this occasion Badr al Samaa Hospital, Barka is offering free consultations from September 25 to 27. The group with its new facility hopes to provide the residents of Barka access to advanced medical care at its current location and benefit from bigger space with increased service capacity such as having more counters at registration, more service rooms and a hi-tech laboratory, radiology and other facilities.
The building is compliant with JCI standards with spacious bed-lifts, disabled-friendly toilets and ramps for wheelchair access.
