Afghanistan: 3 dozen Taliban militants die in one day


(MENAFN) Provincial government spokesman Abdul Rahman Mangal declared that over three dozen Taliban militants have died in the past day in Jaghato district in Afghanistan's eastern Wardak province.

The official added that the missions, supported by air force, have been carried out against Taliban positions in Jaghato district and up to now, over 36 militants, with some local Taliban heads among them, have died and around three dozen more were wounded.

The official confirmed that no civilians and security personnel have been wounded in the continuous raids.

The air attacks have killed about 12 civilians, with women and children among them, according to a member of Wardak's Provincial Council, Hajji Ahmad Jafari.
