(MENAFN) Argentina superstar Lionel Messi was confirmed to be missing out on his team's friendly matches in November and maybe beyond.
The iconic forward asked for a leave from participating in friendlies matches against Guatemala and Colombia this month after a disappointing World Cup.
Coach Lionel Scaloni announced that the 31-year-old footballer will not be playing against Brazil and Saudi Arabia while addressing reporters at FIFA best men's player of the year award ceremony.
The coach said "Messi won't be called up. I have spoken with him and it's best that he doesn't come back for now."
