(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Seeking to open new horizons of cooperation with prestigious higher education institutions around the world, the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Edith Cowan University in Western Australia.
As per the agreement the university will facilitate admission procedures for Omani students to join its language centres and programmes, provide academic and logistical services to students, and ensure the implementation of early intervention strategies to address academic or other difficulties in consultation with the sultanate's consulate.
It will also assign staff to supervise the students and follow up their attendance and academic progress in various programmes, and help the students to finish the courses according to the time plans set for them.
MoHE has received free scholarships for English language programmes and bachelor's programmes. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Omani side by H E Dr Hamoud bin Amer al Wardi, Consul General of Oman, and Professor Jack Garman, dean of International Business Operations at the Edith Cowan University.
Australia has more than 40 universities and Edith Cowan University is ranked 18th among the country's top universities. It has also been ranked among the best in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings.
The university is one of the best varsities for engineering majors in Western Australia.
