(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Sept 24 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) on Monday confirmed the Institute's goals in supporting and enhancing food security in the country and preserving natural resources.
This came in a press release marking the International Day of Social Responsibility, which falls on September 25, titled "Aching Zero Hanger" where KISR is celebrating with the United Nations. The Institute plays an important and effective role in addressing various challenges, through the development of research projects on sustainable food production, the KISR said.
The institute carried out several projects for the preserve of the natural resources and it organized several workshops for achieving food security, it said. KISR has also organized awareness campaigns on this field as well as a seminar on the collapse aimed at preserving fish wealth and achieving sustainable development.
KISR's Environment and Life Sciences Research Center has directed a large part of its research programs to strengthen this area within its strategic plan 2015-2020, in addition to its active participation in the national plans and its support to many state institutions concerned. (end) ss.afh.ss
