Algerian minister calls on cooperation to stabilize oil market


(MENAFN) International oil markets received an appeal from Algeria's Energy Minister Mustapha Guitouni to keep on joining hands and to maintain everlasting talks for market stability.

The call has been made by the Algerian minister in a speech delivered during the opening ceremony of the 10th OPEC and non-OPEC Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) in Algiers.

The minister stated "it is in the interests of oil producers and consumers as well as all actors in the petroleum industry to build on their positive efforts to ensure a smooth transition so as not to destabilize the market."

Saudi Arabia and Russia are co-chairing the JMMC which comprises of four OPEC members, such as Algeria, along with two non-OPEC members, such as Oman.
