Bahrain consumer prices see minor boost


(MENAFN) Bahrain recorded a boost in its consumer price data in August, as announced the Bahraini statistics office.

Bahrain's housing and utility costs posted a 1.2 percent in August compared to last year, amounting for 24 percent of consumer costs.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages prices in Bahrain registered a 0.9 percent profit which is a slowdown of the 2.5 percent increase seen in July, accounting for 16 percent of consumer expenses.

The country's transport prices have also recorded an 8.3 percent jump, following an increase imposed on local gasoline prices early January.
