(MENAFN) Mauritania inked the region-to-region Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) with the EU, marking it as the 15th West African country to secure such a deal.
The news on the agreement which has been on the table with sixteen regional countries has been announced by the European Commission in Brussels.
The purpose behind the agreement is to encourage trade among the EU and African countries, as well as taking part in sustainable growth.
The deal also aims to bring a surge in investment and opening new job opportunities, along with diminishing poverty.
The Commission further explained that the deal is to be handed over for ratification by the two sides as soon as Nigeria inks it.
