Pakistan to face Afghanistan in Asia Cup today


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Pakistan will face Afghanistan in an important match of the Asia Cup Super Four round in Abu Dhabi today (Friday).

The match will begin 4:30pm (PST). Although Pakistan will be favourites going into the game, but Afghanistan's giant-killing ability in this series will ensure that Pakistan will not show any complacency. Afghanistan have already defeated five-time champions Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the tournament and now they have set their sights on Pakistan.

Pakistan lost their match against India mainly because failure of the opening batsmen, therefore, they will be looking to improve in that department. Afghan fans will be hoping for repeat of a heroic performance from Rashid Khan who played main role in Thursday's victory against Bangladesh.

The pitch is likely to assist the spinners, therefore, the team winning the toss might choose to bat first.
