UK ready to support reforms in Uzbekistan by any means

Chief Executive of UK Export Finance (UKEF), the UK's export credit agency, Louis Taylor made his first working visit to Uzbekistan September 18-21, Podrobno.uz reported.

The main purpose of the visit was to promote trade relations between UK and Uzbekistan. Earlier this year, UKEF signed a memorandum of understanding with Uzbekneftegaz company.

During his visit, Taylor met with Deputy Chairman of the Uzbek State Committee for Investments Shukhrat Vafayev, First Deputy Chairman of Board of Uzbekneftegaz Ulugbek Saidov, Deputy Minister of Health Gulnara Urmanova and other officials.

Taylor also held meetings with UK companies operating in Uzbekistan and Uzbek commercial structures.

The UK Export Finance chief executive said that he really liked his first visit to Uzbekistan and discussed a number of issues, including economic reforms and foreign investments.
