UAE- 98% disputes solved amicably in Ajman

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Ajman Community Police have succeeded in amicably solving 205 out of 210 marital and social disputes during the last seven months of this year - which means 98.5 per cent settlement of the cases received by the department.

The community support centre plays a major role in bringing about an amicable solution to the social and family disputes to ease the pressure on courts, said Major-General Sultan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of the Ajman Police. All cases are taken seriously and special police officers study them thoroughly, while bringing the two parties on a common platform to offer them a remedy that would serve the interest of both, he added.

The centre has implemented 22 initiatives in the first half of 2018 as part of its ongoing efforts to integrate the police into the community and to deliver justice.

The community police also distributed 3,000 publications on various languages to educate the residents on a range of key social issues.

Drop in serious crimes Major-General Sultan Al Nuaimi said the police investigated 3,419 crimes of various nature in the last seven months and referred them to the public prosecution, stressing that there are no pending criminal cases. In all the cases, suspects were arrested and action initiated against them. A total of 241 serious crimes were reported during the last seven months of this year as compared to 499 in the same period last year.

Al Nuaimi stressed that the police are making all efforts to reduce crimes and enhance security and safety among various members of the society. He said 'Aman' patrols in the residential neighbourhoods and industrial zones have hugely contributed in combating crimes.
