Zaha Hadid Architects to design subway stations in Ukrainian Dnipro


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Top British company Zaha Hadid Architects will design new subway stations in Ukrainian city of Dnipro.

"Today we signed a contract with the Zaha Hadid Architects on design of Dnipro subway stations," Dnipro city mayor Borys Filatov posted on Facebook.

Zaha Hadid (1950 - 2016) was an Iraqi-British architect, the first woman to receive thePritzker Architecture Prize, the first and only woman to be awarded theRoyal Gold Medalfrom theRoyal Institute of British Architects.

Her major works includethe aquatic centrefor the London 2012 Olympics, Michigan State University'sBroad Art Museumin the US, the Heydar Aliyev Center (Baku), and theGuangzhou Opera Housein China. Several of her buildings were still under construction at the time of her death, including theAl Wakrah StadiuminQatar, a venue for the2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Zaha Hadid Architects opened in London in 1980.
