Netherlands: children die after train crashed into bike

(MENAFN) Four kids have died as another two remain in serious condition after a train crashed into an electric "cargo" bike in the Netherlands.

Police declared that the accident took place on a railway line in the town of Oss, 100km southeast of Amsterdam, at a track crossing nearby the town's railway station.

The crossing has alerting lights, and red and white barriers in order to warn the pedestrians to stay off tracks when the train goes by.

Police added that a children's day care center owns the electric bike which was driving the children to school when the crash took place.
