Laos: Dengue fever claims 14 lives in 2018


(MENAFN) Lao heath authorities are evaluating their efforts to dengue fever after over 4,600 cases have been registered in addition to 14 victims whom were reported in the country up to Sept. 14 this year.

Local daily Vientiane Times confirmed that this is compared to 5,584 dengue fever patients, with 14 fatalities among them, nationwide in 2017.

Most of the cases have been reported from Savannakhet in central Laos, with 719 patient and 6 deaths up to now since the beginning of 2018.

The Lao capital Vientiane has registered 585 dengue cases with no fatalities, Champassak in the south has had 773 cases and two victims, while another southern province of Attapeu 877 cases and three deaths.
