Algerian military command hierarchy undergoes reshuffle

(MENAFN) Algeria's Defense Ministry verified media reports, stating that the Algerian top military brass is undergoing a reshuffle.

The Algerian third military zone commander Said Chenagriha has been picked as the successor of ground forces chief Ahcene Tager, as declared the ministry in a statement.

Major-General Hamid Boumaiza has also been selected for the position of air force chief after the assumed retirement of Major-General Abdelkader Lounes, the statement added.

The shake-up in the military command hierarchy is taking place after a series of similar reforms officials have revealed.
