KUWAIT CITY, Sept 19: Kuwaiti preacher Hamad Al-Sanan returned the issue of banning the sale of statues in Kuwait to square one, opening the door for religious opinions and fatwas about the ruling which forbid the sale of statues, reports Al- Rai daily.

'I do not know where the logic comes from and how it happens to imagine that a Muslim worships an idol,' Al-Sanan said.

He has severely criticized those who tarnish the image of religion, saying the companions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) did not order knocking down the statues of the Sphinx in Giza and Ramses in Nubia or the statues of Buddha in Bamyan province in Afghanistan
