Syrian migrants to receive dialysis treatment from UNHCR, KSRelief

(MENAFN) The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was confirmed to have inked an USD2.24 million deal with King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) on the supply of dialysis treatment for Syrian migrants.

The dialysis treatment for severe renal failure is to help 128 Syrians who have taken shelter in Jordan and Lebanon over a one-year period.

UNHCR Regional Representative to the GCC Countries, Khaled Khalifa penned the life-saving agreement with KSRelief General Supervisor Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah in Jordan.

"As we know, dialysis patients constantly suffer from psychological and logistical obstacles, and are in continuous need for health support," as stated Al Rabeeah.

He added "KSRelief launches this programme in collaboration with UNHCR out of its concern in supporting the largest number of the most vulnerable refugees in need of dialysis treatment, and to emphasise on specialised life-saving programmes dedicated to health care of refugees."
