(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Sept 18: When a number of parents were surprised by the presence of male cleaning workers in the secondary schools for girls in the Ahmadi Educational Zone, the director of the zone Waleed Al- Oumi disclaimed the notion and said they are gardeners and work exquisitely outside the classrooms away from the eyes of the female students, reports Al-Rai daily.
Al-Oumi said the school administration was instructed to assign the workers to do the work after the end of the school hours, affirming that the school is committed to the instructions.
The parents said the use of male workers is a precedent in the girls' schools if correct, and asked the Undersecretary of Education Dr Haitham Al-Athari to open an investigation.
