(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Zawawi Powertech team recently won the Oman India Sports Meet (OISM) final match held at Oman Cricket Academy ground.
In the beginning, Al Mata Engineering set a margin of 116 runs for their opponent team Zawawi Powertech, but in an interesting match, Zawawi Powertech overcame this target and defeated Al Mata by 4 wickets in 19 overs. Although Powertech at one stage lost the control of the game, but they gradually came into their full strength and presented their best game.
At one stage, Powertech was 48 runs for six wickets, but with a steady and careful game their regained confidence and their outstanding batsmen Mandy and Mohan took them to an interesting victory. Mujahid and Mohan umpired this interesting tournament. The award ceremony will be conducted in a befitting manner as soon as all game events are completed, when the outstanding sportsmen of both Oman and India will be honoured, as announced by T Bhaskaran, convener of the Malayalam Wing of Indian Social Club. A total of 16 teams in Oman participated in the Oman India Sports Meet Cricket tournaments, in which four were Omani teams. Omani team OCT Seeb played very well but they lost to Al Mata Engineering in semi final.
Ahmed Jadhamy, director of Sports from Ministry of Sports Oman, and Dad Mohammed al Balushi, board member, Oman Cricket Academy, were the guests of honour. Both Jadhamy and Balushi thanked the teams for their participation and expressed gratitude for organising such tournaments in Oman.
