(MENAFN- Asia Times) An Australian man and his Filipina partner have been arrested for running an alleged cybersex den in Iloilo in the Philipines.
On Saturday morning, police raided a house in Parc Regency Residences in Pavia and arrested John Laffler, 69, and Gladys Degala, 21. Police alleged that the pair sold nude photos of teenagers aged 13 to 16 as models, The Daily Guardian reported.
Senior Supt. Marion Tayaba, the Iloilo police director, said that the International Justice Mission – a non-government group – had checked on the couple's operations by pretending to be clients and gathered information about alleged cybersex operations.
'The couple have been operating for about three weeks already before they were busted,' Tayaba said.
Tayaba said the couple charged 5,000 Philippine pesos (US$92) to clients for photos and a higher amount was charged if clients wanted a live feed of the teenage models.
The suspects were due to be charged with violating the Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act.
They could also be charged with violating the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, a criminal law against human trafficking, sex tourism, sex slavery and child prostitution.
