Washington, DC - Amanda Clifford was a typical Southern California girl who spent her days outdoors or with friends. Her childhood, she says, was idyllic; that is until her mother was diagnosed with brain cancer when she was fourteen. 'Everything changed, she says. 'I tried to carry the weight for my family and was incredibly hard on myself when I didn't live up to my own expectations. Clifford explains that she carried those unhealthy standards of perfection into the next decade of her life. It wasn't until she had a breakdown that she began to re-evaluate her life and decided that her mind, health, and life needed to change.

'As I began to make changes in my life, she explains, 'I learned the value of having other people around me that could support those changes and provide mentorship when needed. Those people I chose to gather around me helped to shape the person I am today.Rise As Weis all about having those types of people in your life that can help you to stay on course with your lifestyle changes and encourage you when you begin to falter.
