Amir issues decision to reform Qatar University's Board of Trustees

DOHA: Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani issued yesterday an Amiri Decision No. 64 of 2018 reforming the Board of Trustees of Qatar University.

The decision stipulated that the Board of Trustees of Qatar University be reformed with

H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani as the Chairman and H E Sheikh Dr Abdullah bin Ali bin Saoud Al Thani as the Vice-Chairman.

The members of the Board of Trustees will include: Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs H E Dr Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Dr Mohamed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi, Minister of Development Planning and Statistics H E Dr Saleh bin Mohamad Al Nabit, Minister of Public Health H E Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, Chairman of Qatari Businessmen Association Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, Dr Hessa Sultan Al Jaber, Dr Ibrahim Ibrahim, Ali Ahmed Al Kuwari, Faisal Mohammed Al Suwaidi and a number of qualified, experienced and scientific status, from inside or outside the country.

The decision also stipulated that the duration of membership is four years, which maybe extended by one period or more similar periods.

The decision ordered all competent authorities, each within its own jurisdiction, to implement it. The decision is effective from its date of issues and is to be published in the official gazette.

H H the Amir also issued an instrument of ratification approving a draft air services agreement between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia, signed in Doha on 18/3/2015.

H H the Amir issued an instrument of ratification approving the ratification of a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of health between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia, signed in Doha on 14/5/2018

H H the Amir also issued an instrument of ratification approving a draft air services agreement between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands regarding Curacao, signed in Colombo on 6/12/2017.

H H the Amir also issued an instrument of ratification approving a draft agreement on the promotion and protection of mutual investments between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of Ukraine, signed in Doha on 20/3/2018.

H H the Amir issued an instrument of ratification approving the ratification of a memorandum of understanding in the field of housing between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco, signed in Rabat on 12/3/2018.

H H the Amir issued an instrument of ratification approving the ratification of the supplementary protocol in the field of supervision and control of financial institutions of the memorandum of understanding between Qatar Central Bank and Bank Al-Maghrib, signed in Rabat on 12/3/2018.

H H the Amir issued an instrument of ratification approving the ratification of a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of media between Qatar Media Corporation of the State of Qatar and the Iraqi Media Network of the Republic of Iraq, signed in Doha on 10/6/2018.

H H the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani also issued an accession document approving the State of Qatar's accession to the Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works for Persons Who Are Blind, Visually Impaired, or Otherwise Print Disabled.

H H the Amir also issued an accession document approving the State of Qatar's accession to the Agreement for the Establishment of the International Anti-Corruption Academy as an International Organization.
