DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange's (QSE) benchmark index gained 195.12 points, or 1.99 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 10,021.96 points.
Trading value during last week increased by 56.24 percent to reach QR958.30m compared to QR613.34m in the previous week.
Trading volume decreased by 1.52 percent to reach 27.43 million shares, as against 27.86 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 34.35 percent, to reach 16,146 transactions as compared to 12,018 transactions.
Market cap rose by 1.90 percent to reach QR553.87bn as compared to QR543.53bn at the end of previous week.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 46.31 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 17.20 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 12.30 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 8.40 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume last week with 31.53 percent of the total traded volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 24.19 percent. Industries sector accounted for 18.51 percent and Transportation sector accounted 10.56 percent.
From the 45 listed companies 28 ended last week higher, while 14 fell and three remained unchanged, reports QNA.
QNB led traded value last week accounted 22 percent of the total traded value. Industries Qatar accounted for 9.13 percent and Qatar Islamic Bank accounted for 7.15 percent.
When compared on daily basis, the QSE index gained 31.79 points, or 0.32 percent, yesterday compared to Wednesday's closing.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 5.31 million from 7.59 million on Wednesday and the value of shares also decreased to QR185.75m from QR289.15m on Wednesday.
From the 47 companies listed on QSE, shares of 42 saw trading yesterday. Of these, 24 companies gained, 16 closed lower and two remained unchanged.
Indices of all seven sectors ended green zone today. QSE Total Return Index increased 0.32 percent to 17,657.58 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index added 0.10 to 3,880.15 points. QSE All Share Index gained 0.46 to 2,927.52 points.
