Arab League Chief, Palestinian FM discuss latest Palestinian diplomatic move

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Sept 11 (KUNA) -- Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit discussed with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Malki the latest political developments and the Palestinian diplomatic movement, especially regarding the repercussions of the United States stopping the funding of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
The Arab League said in a statement on Tuesday that the meeting between the two men comes on the sidelines of the 150th session of the Arab League Foreign Ministerial Council scheduled for today.
Al-Malki stressed the seriousness and rejection of the Israeli racist law- Israel is the nation-state of the Jewish people- and its effects on the historical and political rights of the Palestinian people, stressing the need to address the American-Israeli project seeking to destroy efforts aimed at finding a solution to the Palestinian cause.
He warned of the serious repercussions on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, which is besieged by the closure of the crossings and Israel's siege and starvation policy, calling for international intervention to provide urgent protection for the Palestinian people and recognition of a full Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital on the 1967 borders.
The statement said that the "Jewish National State" law approved by the Knesset last July "creates a new legal and political reality and grants legitimacy to occupation, settlement expansion, racism, discrimination and oppression and opens a new phase of colonial and fascist practices."(end).
