Afghanistan- China, Pakistan Vow to Enhance Afghan Reconciliation Process


(MENAFN- Daily Outlook Afghanistan) ISLAMABAD - Chinese Foreign Minister says China and Pakistan will work together to enhance the reconciliation process in Afghanistan.
China's Foreign Minister Wang Li has met his Pakistan counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad on Saturday and discussed issues around regional affairs and vowed to support the Afghan reconciliation process.
"We have agreed to strengthen international and regional affairs. The two sides will work together to enhance the reconciliation process in Afghanistan, Wang Li said at a joint press conference, adding that 'The two sides will work together to support Afghanistan's nationalism, patriotism and politics. The two sides will build a new type of international relations and community, for mankind."
He also said that China will continue to support Pakistan in efforts to fight against terrorism.
Associated Press reported that Wang met Qureshi in Islamabad to discuss matters of mutual interest, including the China Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Wang arrived Friday night for a three-day visit.
He said in a news conference that China wants to help strengthen and stabilize Pakistan's economy and enhance strategic relations between the two countries.
In the meantime, Qureshi said they discussed regional security, the peace process in Afghanistan and strengthening strategic cooperation.
Wang will also meet Pakistan's Prime Minister, President, Army Chief and other top officials. (Tolo news)
