TOMI Environmental Solutions, Inc. Expands Use of SteraMist Into Veterans Administration Hospital

(MENAFNEditorial) BEVERLY HILLS, CA / ACCESSWIRE / September 7, 2018 / TOMI Environmental Solutions, Inc. ("TOMI") (OTCQX: TOMZ), a global provider of infection prevention and decontamination products, services and research, including SteraMist™ , a hydrogen peroxide-based mist and fog, announced today that it has added its first U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs hospital to a growing list of U.S. hospitals incorporating TOMI's DARPA developed cold plasma technology of SteraMist™ iHP™ into daily disinfectant cleaning protocols.

This newly constructed Louisiana based VA hospital purchased two (2) full suites of each of TOMI's SteraMist™ disinfection systems, demonstrating a strong commitment to providing the best products currently available to limit the risk of dangerous pathogen transference. These suites of products include the SteraMist™ Surface Unit, a hand-held portable unit ideal for a variety of spaces, including medical transport vehicles, and also the SteraMist™ Environment System to treat indoor space and surfaces. These systems provide exceptional complete room treatment and are also easy to transport, making them a perfect disinfection system for room terminal cleans, Operating Rooms, Intensive Care Units, and highly infectious inpatient rooms. The equipment solution combination is EPA registered for use as a hospital-healthcare disinfectant, and general disinfectant, including proven efficacy against the spread of a number of viruses and bacteria including C. difficile spores, h1n1 virus, norovirus, salmonella and MRSA. Both systems are domestically and internationally recognized for their versatility to treat a variety of spaces in record time.

Once fully operational, this new facility is expected to be among one of the highest-performing VA medical centers, and as a tertiary care regional referral medical center, will serve a projected 70,000 enrolled Veterans with an anticipated 550,000 annual visits. The protocol implemented for this facility will use one gallon of BIT Solution per operating room, and the facility will be treating eight (8) operating rooms nightly, in addition to using the handheld units in patient rooms and waiting areas.

Elissa J. Shane, TOMI™ COO stated, "This purchase proves that the Veterans Administration is committed to providing the highest quality of care to our veterans, who are some of the most deserving populations our healthcare systems serve. We have customized protocols specific to their use and needs and will continue to work with them, and other hospital clients, to achieve the goal of disinfecting critical spaces for an added layer of patient safety."
