(MENAFN) The UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) was found to have spent USD420 million for life-saving measures conduction in 36 countries by the end of last year.
The fund has supported the aid operations for the sake of millions of people in desperate need of support.
CERF, along with its partners, ensured the strategic use of USD418.2 million in donor contributions provide aid of the highest priority, the fund explained in its report.
UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Mark Lowcock was cited as saying: "in 2017, I saw how CERF changed the lives of many ... it is without question, one of our most important tools to reach people quickly and save lives."
