Hijacker of EgyptAir flight extradited to Egypt


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Aug 18 (KUNA) -- The Egyptian authorities on Saturday received from Cyprus Seif-Elddin Mustafa who hijacked a domestic flight in 2016.
Mustafa, 60, was escorted to Egypt under heavy guard today; he will be referred to the prosecution before standing trial, MENA reported tonight.
The Public Prosecutor Nabil Ahmad Sadeq has ordered starting the legal procedures against the defendant after the successful repatriation from Cyprus, according to the report.
Mustafa, pretending to be wearing an explosive belt, diverted the Cairo-bound EgyptAir Flight MS181 from Borg El Arab International Airport in Alexandria to Larnaca airport on March 29, 2016; later he surrendered to the Cypriot authorities. (end) aff.gb
