(MENAFN) The state television revealed that the Iranian authorities have put six people to death, over looting and burglary charges in the northeastern city of Mashhad.
State prosecutor Hassan Haidari confirmed that the ruling took place upon the admission of the High Court of Justice.
He added that the defendants "were not poor" and didn't have to steal.
"The death penalty should be a lesson for everyone who harms the safety and integrity of society," according to Haidari. €ƒ
