(MENAFN) The US forces pledged to remain in Syria until the ISIL terrorist group gets destroyed David Satterfield, Acting Assistant of the U.S. Secretary-General for the Middle East claimed this during a briefing.
According to him, the American President said this to the Russian President, TASS reports.
'There should be no doubt considering the position of President Trump regarding the future presence of the U.S.A. in Syria. We are there for an elimination, the full elimination of ISIL. That what says the message of the President to Putin, and this is the message, which we gave all our interlocutors,' Satterfield said.
The State Department has also claimed that the UN is ready to activate the process of political resolution in Syria.
